VIA Rail passenger trains are bracing for a Cross-Canada strike Thursday night.And passengers are starting to look for other ways to get around without their usual trains.And in a late release from the CAW, they says that while contract talks between the CAW and VIA Rail are currently taking place in Montreal, the sides are still far aparton a number of outstanding issues. Bob Orr, Assistant to the CAW National President said that the union bargaining committee is not optimistic that a strike can be avoided at thislate stage in the talks.Al Sweeney is at the Aldershot VIA Rail station and has some reaction.
