first_img Written by FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailOGDEN, Utah-Late Monday, Weber State defensive end George Tarlas was named as the ROOT Sports Big Sky Conference defensive player of the week.Tarlas, a redshirt sophomore out of Boise, Idaho, netted six total tackles as the Wildcats outlasted Idaho 41-35 Saturday at the Kibbie Dome of Moscow, Idaho.He also posted two sacks and forced fumbles and two pass breakups in Weber State’s win over the Vandals.He is fourth on the squad with two sacks and his two forced fumbles rank him fourth in the Big Sky.The Wildcats, who are ranked No. 4 nationally in the STATS FCS poll, will host in-state rival Southern Utah Saturday for Homecoming for a 6:00 pm kickoff.
