New course in Jewish leadership

first_imgThe Oxford Centre for Hebrew andJewish Studies has proposed a newcourse in Jewish leadership.The program would involve a yearof study of Jewish Studies in Oxford ,equivalent to a masters course,followed by a year of leadershipstudies at the Said Business school.Part of the proposal includesoffering five to ten students fromaround the world a full scholarshipto the new course. Centre PresidentDavid Ariel described this GlobalJewish Leadership ScholarsProgramme as the “Rhodesscholarship for the Jewish world.”Ariel added, “There would also bean option for those already workingin Jewish communities. They couldtake the course on a part-time basis,doing modules in leadership fromSaid and in Jewish Studies from us.”If the proposal is successful itwould be the first degree level courseof this type in Britain.Ariel hopes to launch the schemeby 2014.
