Along with helping our students reach their goals,Pensacola State makes career fulfillment a reality.Job Description:Duties and Responsibilities:Partner with functional area leads of the college to analyzecurrent business practices and processes in workday systems and howtechnology is or can be used to support those business practicesand processes. Recommend changes to improve efficiencies andimplement best practices. Create reports for both internal andexternal consumption and coordinates state and federal reportingrequirements. As part of a team, work with other business analyststo coordinate efforts in streamlining business processes andpractices across functional areas. Effectively communicate systemor process changes to users with varying technical knowledge.Implement new functionality in workday as it becomes available.Work with users to determine requirements and timelines for newfunctionality and the impact on current processes. Responsible forquality assurance, creation of test scripts and testing execution.Work with other areas of IT, especially the software developers, toachieve these goals.Work with functional leads to create and deliver training tocollege personnel in a variety of ways including written (i.e.,help sheets, documentation), video (i.e., screen recordings orvideo help/training materials), classroom, one on one, virtual,small group or other formats.Stay active professionally and be up to date on current and trendsand technologies within their area of responsibility. Developrelationships with other colleges in Florida and around the countryto foster communication of business process and practices betweenthe various organizations. Cross train with other Business Analyststo provide backup to those positions and to have an overallunderstanding of the college’s processes and systems.Document and keep current, procedures and processes at thecollege.Participates in required training for all technical aspects ofWorkday systems.Modifies, designs and implements workday functionality in the areasof security assignments, business processes, integrations, andreports as requested by functional area leads.Works with functional area lead to determine detailed design,development, and test plan for implementing new projects.Works with and mentors lesser experienced programmers.Reports program progress and programming activities tosupervisor.Estimates and plans own work under general supervision.Works from remote locations when necessary to login and keepsystems available to end users. Must provide a method of contactunless given specific authorization from supervisor to not becontacted.Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices andregulations that apply to this specific area and position. Unsafeconditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and tothe Pensacola State College Police Department/Public Safety.Performs other duties as assigned.Essential Functions:Scheduled work may involve some evenings and variation in workhours.Ability to create written correspondence.Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.Excellent customer service, people, listening and organizationalskills.Operates office equipment: desktop computer, fax/copier machine,printers, and calculators.In district and overnight travel may be required.Ability to read, write, and interpret reports.Public speaking and presentation to groups ability.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Use of spreadsheet and word processing software to createcorrespondence and reports.Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet theneeds of diverse student populations.Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extendedperiods of time.Ability to demonstrate professional and discretionary communicationskills via electronic, verbal, written, and face-to-faceinteractions.Must provide excellent customer service through the use ofappropriate written and verbal communication including, but notlimited to, using the telephone, email, voicemail, and writtencorrespondence.Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accreditedinstitution with a bachelor’s degree in systems science, computerscience, software engineering or related field and experience as acomputer programmer on large-scale computer systems in an online,multi-processing environment OR an unrelated two or four yeardegree with two years minimum work experience as a computer systemsanalyst on large-scale computer systems in an on-line,multi-processing environment. Successful results of a criminalbackground check are required.Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibilityrequirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of §435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will bedeemed not qualified to hold employment in this position.
